Museum of Fine Arts Boston Tour | Hokusai (The Great Wave) Exhibit & More

Welcome to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston! This 4K Vlog will heavily feature the Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence exhibit which is in Boston until mid-July before it moves onto Seattle later in the year.

The MFA is very accessible, but it is HUGE. A theme of this vlog is how much I underestimated how big this museum is. There are three floors, and the exhibits are very detailed and intricate with rooms attached to rooms. It is easy to get lost!

This vlog is slightly chaotic because it takes place over the course of three visits - I hope you can keep track!

I went to the Hokusai exhibit twice, but the second time I went with my friend, Josh, who is my most art knowledgable friend! Even he was surprised at the size of the Great Wave image! It was awesome to see it up close after seeing it so frequently in pop culture. We spent a good amount of time reading all of the information in this exhibit, and we went late at night during the week so we basically had the place to ourselves!

I also visited the Egyptian exhibit with my mom which is a great exhibit. I added a few little tidbits here, and then the next time that I visited was for a short time after going to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum which is very close to the MFA. During this part I didn't give too many opinions, but I did sneak a few in while editing.

If you stick around for the whole vlog, thank you! You will get a good idea of how great this museum is and how it can keep you occupied for a long time. Another great thing is that they participate in the Bank of America free weekends, but these days are extra crowded. Visiting Hokusai was not included in this free promotion, but the rest of the exhibits were.

The museum is very good about accessibility. They have maps that show where the accessible bathrooms are, their elevators are spacious, and the doors between exhibits are all powered. They have wheelchairs and rollators available for free, but they are on a first come first serve basis. If you have mobility or fatigue needs of any kind, definitely consider this before visiting or buying your tickets.

Let me know in the comments if you would like to see more exhibits in detail!
