Disney Wish Cruise Day 3!
This vlog is the seventh of 7 vlogs in my (hopefully first!) Disney Series. I was joined by Pam, Evie, and Aiden on this amazing trip with stops at Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and EPCOT (After Hours) during the Food & Wine Festival before sailing on the Disney Wish in August 2023.
If you are new to the channel, I have a rare muscle disease, so for extended adventures I use my mobility scooter. The vlogs will feature some clips from my Scooter Cam, and I wore this action camera on the rides so that way you could not only see the rides but also how I transfer into and out of them as a person with limited mobility and muscle weakness.
This vlog starts with me taking to the camera first thing in the morning. I need to find a more attractive way to start these vlogs!
We went to Castaway Cay on this day, and it was AMAZING! We had food from Cookie's BBQ and enjoyed shopping and hanging by the beach. I wish we had more time there.
When we got back to the ship, we finally got on the AquaMouse (starting around 24:32). The AquaMouse has the first ADA set up to get to the float platform. This allowed me to avoid the slippery steps and waiting in line to get to the platform. Since it takes longer to get in and out, they typically let disabled riders go twice. They stop the moving platform in order for people with disabilities to take their time getting on. The floats are two seaters, so someone will be on with you, but there's no way around it - they are low. I needed assistance getting in and out of the float. I appreciated the scooter / wheelchair lift to the slide 100%, but the only thing that would make the AquaMouse better would be if there was some sort of Hoyer lift to get people into and out of the floats. Imagineers if you're reading this - think about it!
For dinner we went to 1923, and it was another great meal! The next morning we sadly said good-bye to the Disney Wish. 100% recommend cruising with Disney! Hopefully this is the first of many Disney Cruises!
